There are a variety of art, history and science museums to visit around Baltimore and the Inner Harbor conveniently located close to the Bed and Breakfast.
Affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, the Reginald F Lewis Museum showcases 400 years of Maryland's African American History. It's vast collection serves to highlight the rich contributions of African American Marylanders, and was named for Baltimore's native son, who was the first African American to build a billion-dollar company, TLC Beatrice International Holdings.
William Thompson Walters and his son Henry Walters, began collecting art and antiques in the mid-19th century. Their collection evolved into this public museum that now encompasses 4 beautiful mansions in the Mount Vernon neighborhood. With a Tiffany Rotunda and one of the largest Fabergé collections in the world, this free museum is located right next to the original Washington Monument and across the square from the architecturally phenomenal Peabody Library - worth sticking your head in to see it.
Just a block from Rachael’s Dowry, this is an interesting museum, even if you're not a baseball fan. Babe Ruth was born here, in his grandfather's home. Babe was America's first sports celebrity, and his influence goes well beyond baseball.
